Audience FAQ
Updated: April 27, 2022
In order to help you feel safe and make decisions that work for you, we are providing some key information about our COVID-19 safety protocols! Here are some questions you may have about what to expect when returning to The Citadel.
Q: Will I be required to show proof of vaccination / wear a mask?
A: Citadel + Compagnie will be taking a cautious approach throughout the remainder of the 2021/22 season as the Government of Ontario eases public health restrictions, and the province makes its way through the sixth wave. Throughout this transition all patrons will continue to be required to provide proof of vaccination and wear an appropriate face covering. The health and safety of our staff, performers and patrons is our highest priority.

Q: When should I arrive?
A: Please arrive 20-30 minutes in advance of the scheduled show time to accommodate COVID-19 protocols. Unfortunately, latecomers will not be admitted.
Q: What happens upon arrival?
A: Once you have arrived, our friendly box office staff will kindly request to check your COVID-19 vaccine certificate and will then proceed to check you in to the show.
After check-in, the lobby and lower studio at The Citadel will be open for you to wait with ample space to move and maintain distance prior to the start of the show.
Q: What if I am feeling unwell?
A: If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 or are required to be isolating please stay home.
In this event, please contact us at: boxoffice@citadelcie.com and your tickets will be happily refunded or transferred to another date or program.
For full information on isolation requirements please visit the province’s website here.
Q: What will it be like inside the theatre?
A: Capacity limits at The Citadel have increased to 50 audience members per night.
The Mimi Hernndorf Studio Theatre is a 30’ x 55’ foot room. Seating is general admission and is in a traditional proscenium configuration.
Q: Will the bar be open?
A: Yes! Drinks may be purchased before and after the show but must be consumed while seated and may not be brought into the theatre.
Q: What other COVID-19 protocols are in place at The Citadel?
A: All public spaces at The Citadel including the theatre are cleaned thoroughly each morning. The Citadel is also equipped with an efficient HVAC system with a fresh-air return rate of 3 minutes, and HEPA filters in both the theatre and lower studio.
During shows, performers will be unmasked. All dancers have provided proof of vaccination.
