Level 1 – physical distancing and limitations on the number of people in the building
Limitations on staff in Citadel office
Staff will work remotely unless their presence is required onsite.
No more that 3 staff will be permitted to work in the office at the same time.
In instances that require multiple staff members to be in the office, physical distancing rules will be followed, or work will be done on the outdoor terrace.
Lobby/Studio/Theatre/Greenroom capacity changes
Lobby area – 5 people
Jean Soper studio – 5 people
Mimi Herrndorf studio theatre – 10 people, no public performances or audiences allowed
Lindy Green Wing – closed
To avoid having more than one person in a small space, only the accessible washroom at the lobby level will remain in use.
Both the men’s and women’s washrooms/changerooms adjacent to the lower studio will remain closed until further notice.
Maximum occupancy for the man-lift elevator remains at 2 people. Due to the enclosed space masks must be worn at all times in the elevator.
Level 2 – Cleaning and Sanitizing
Hand sanitizer available at front desk, in the studio, in the theatre, and in the office.
Postcards and pamphlets removed from front lobby.
The Lindy Green Wing dressing room, kitchen, washroom, and shower remain closed.
Studio and theatre doors will be kept open at all times to allow more air flow in the spaces and to reduce the spread of bacteria via door handles and push bars.
High touch points throughout the building cleaned and sanitized with 80% alcohol following a detailed checklist after each renter.
Dancefloors in both spaces cleaned and sanitized with 80% alcohol after each renter.
Level 3 – Protocols for building usage
The front door will remain locked at all times. Remote entry available for renters by ringing doorbell.
Everyone entering is asked to either use the hand sanitizer available at the front desk immediately upon entering, or to proceed directly to a washroom to wash hands before proceeding into the building.
Self health checks and contact tracing questionnaire to be filled out by each visitor to the Citadel once daily. This form is available via QR codes posted at the front desk so that it can be submitted without physical contact.
No cash payments for rentals – all rentals must be paid in advance via electronic transfer.
Buffer times scheduled in between rentals to to allow for a through cleaning of the space, and for sufficient fresh air to be circulated into the room.
Outdoor shoes are to be removed and placed on designated mats at the doors of studios. Renters are encouraged to bring a bag to place shoes in.
No bare feet allowed outside of studios.
Highly visible signage in washrooms outlining proper hand washing procedure and asking that paper towels be used to shut off taps and open doors when exiting.
Level 4 – Guidelines for wearing masks
Signage issued by the City of Toronto citing the by-law requiring masks to be worn indoors posted at the front entrance to the building, in the lobby and by the elevator entrances.
Masks must be worn at all times when two metres of physical distance between individuals cannot be followed.
It is not required that dancers working alone in a studio wear a mask.
It is not required that dancers working in the studio wear a mask while dancing, however it is required that anyone else in the room (choreographer, designer, outside eye, etc) wear a mask to protect them from airborne droplets.
If masks cannot be worn due to the nature of the activity of the artists in the studio, then a 2-metre physical distance must be maintained between individuals.
Masks must be worn at all times when in the washroom and in the lobby.
Level 5 – Policies for admittance of renters and visitors
In order to keep our community members safe, the following persons will not be admitted into the building:
Anyone who has had symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 7 days. Symptoms include any of the following: cough, fever, shortness of breath, sore throat, difficulty breathing or swallowing, runny nose, loss of taste and/or smell, nausea, muscle/joint pain, diarrhea, vomiting.
Anyone awaiting results of COVID-19 testing.
Anyone directed by public health to stay home.
Anyone who has recently arrived from outside of Canada.
Anyone who has had contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
Anyone who is sharing a household with someone who falls under any of the above categories.
Unannounced visitors will not be permitted.
Renters are responsible for submitting in advance a list of anyone who will be in attendance during their booking, along with their rental contract.
Renters will agree to abide by all new rental protocols outlined in their rental contracts.
Any staff, renter, or visitor who begins to experience any COVID-19 symptoms while at the Citadel must go home immediately and follow Telehealth directives. They will not be permitted to return to the building until they are symptom-free.
