Notes

This is a series of interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary performances featuring artists who are exploring poetry and/or spoken word interpreted and performed with dance, music and video image-work. Each performance is inspired by the wind in the leaves collective’s aesthetic practice which is based on its artistic director’s poetry and vision of poetry/spoken word and dance. The performances are a dialogue between the collective and the other artists who will perform. This will support building interest amongst artists and audiences for this multi-disciplinary genre that has emerged out of African diasaporic traditions, the Black Arts Movement and contemporary practice.
