ALLEGRO defines classical ballet ‘with an edge and an extra kick’, building cardiovascular stamina and muscular endurance. This is a dynamic full body workout conducted away from the barre for an added balance challenge. Plie, jete and pirouette your way to strength and length!

jennifer-01Jennifer Nichols
Jennifer Nichols, professional dancer and founder of The Extension Method™, is a CanFit Certified Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer and Elite Athletics Coach. Jennifer’s Extension Method Class has been profiled with glowing reviews in the National Post, The Toronto Star, FASHION Magazine, the KIT magazine, Best Health magazine and WHERE Toronto. Jennifer is also a company member of  Canada’s revered Baroque opera company, Opera  Atelier, with whom she performs as a member of the ballet ensemble.

 

Subsequent Classes:

Tyler trained at The National Ballet School in Toronto, Het National Balletacademie in Amsterdam, and The Pacific Northwest Ballet School in Seattle. As a student he was awarded the Peter Dwyer Scholarship for the Performing Arts and the Lawrence Hasket Memorial Award.
He works with Hit & Run Productions, Opera Atelier, The Chimera Project, ProArte Danza and The Dietrich Group. For his role in DA Hoskins’ PARIS1994\Gallery in 2010, he was nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore Award for outstanding performance in a dance production.

GADFLY:
Award winning company Gadfly focuses on studying, researching and creating movement at the junction where urban dance styles (House dancing, Hip Hop, B-Boying) and other praised genres (Jazz, Contemporary) collide and tune together. Ofilio Portillo and Apolonia Velasquez, artistic directors, merge art with entertainment in Contemporary Urban Dancing, which breathes with a spontaneity found only in urban dance culture. Their work reflects a distinct language that stands out from the masses. Rightly named Gadfly, they personify innovation.
Gadfly’s body of work includes: Over 50 short lives performances (Ted Talks Toronto, Dance Matters, Bench clothing launch), participation in 18 festivals (Luminato, Nuit Blanche, Oakville Jazz Fest, Montreal Fringe, C27 Arts Fest Toronto), contributions to 12 charitable organizations (Sick Kids, Keep-A-Breast, Hip Hop for Hope), presented events such as The Gadfly Anniversary festival and TUDS the Toronto Urban Dance Symposium, three full evening theatrical works, and received 3 Dora Mavor Moore Award nominations. “Gadfly transformed itself into a first-class contemporary danced company with Klorofyl” (Paula Citron – Globe and Mail).
