The Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance | Reopening Guidelines
Updated August 31, 2020
We have reopened the Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance after following the guidelines set out by Toronto Public Health, and in doing so we will be implementing the following changes.
We are planning to reopen the Citadel in phases in the hopes that by doing our part now to contain the COVID-19 virus and stop its spread, we will be able to return to normal operations when deemed appropriate by the City of Toronto and Toronto Public Health authorities.
The changes will be reassessed on a week-to-week basis where we will determine if The Citadel will continue to operate within these guidelines, or if changes will be made based on any changes to public health guidelines.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with inquiries, and to book space.

The Citadel has an accessible washroom located in the lobby at street level. Both Studio A and Studio B are accessible by a two person elevator located at the lobby level. Community members using mobility devices can use the elevator to access these spaces, however, it requires a staff member’s assistance to operate. We regret this obstacle to greater accessibility. The Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance is located near accessible transit stops at Parliament Street at Dundas Street East.
The Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance is located at 304 Parliament Street, just south of the intersection of Parliament Street and Dundas Street East. Transit stops at this intersection are serviced by the 65 PARLIAMENT bus travelling North/South and the 505 DUNDAS streetcar route travelling East/West.
Limitations on the number of people allowed in each of our spaces have been determined according to the 2-metre physical distancing measures set out by heath authorities. Rentals involving more than the allowable number of people per space will not be permitted. Maximum capacities are posted outside of each space.
Buffer Time for Cleaning
All rentals must be in 1-hour increments. All rentals of 2 hours or less will have an additional charge applied to cover the cost of cleaning the space in between users. All rentals of 3 hours or more will have the cleaning fee waived. There will be a 1-hour buffer in-between all rentals to allow for a thorough cleaning of the space and for the air systems to circulate fresh air into the room. Please see the Citadel COVID-19 Protocols and guidelines for Renters for more information about booking studio spaces.
Everyone entering the building (including renters, their invited guests, and staff) must fill out a personal health assessment and contact tracing form immediately upon entering the building at the beginning of each day. QR codes displayed at the front desk can be scanned to bring up the Google form on your phone or tablet so that this can be done without touching pen and paper. If you do not have a web-enabled device, paper forms are supplied at the front desk. Please make sure to use the sanitizer provided before handling forms.

Please arrive with your own mask. otherwise masks can be brought to the front desk. Masks are required in the office at all times when the 2–metre physical distancing rule cannot be observed.
Studios, washrooms, and lobby will be cleaned thoroughly following each renter. Spray bottles with alcohol and paper towels are available in both the studio and the theatre for renters to sanitize high touch surfaces at the start and end of their time (optional).
Increased Air Flow
Studio and theatre doors will be kept open at all times to allow more air flow in the spaces and to reduce the spread of germs via door handles and push bars. Thermostats have been locked to run at the optimal settings to allow as much fresh air in as possible and cannot be accessed by renters.
No outdoor shoes allowed in the studios. Shoes are to be placed on the designated mats.
All payments for rentals must be made by electronic transfer in advance of your rental day.
Food and Drink
