We are thrilled to announce major updates to The Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance, and the online shift of our Citadel Dance Program. Thanks to a $84,200 Resilient Communities Fund grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, we have been able to adapt and reimagine our community-based dance programs and invest in significant upgrades to create a safe environment for our community.
“Congratulations to Citadel + Compagnie on the announcement of upgrades to your facility and programming,” said Suze Morrison, MPP for Toronto Centre. “Citadel + Compagnie is a highly respected arts organization within our community known for their successful collaboration and commitment to creative excellence. These updates and grant funding will help Citadel + Compagnie broaden their reach and adapt their programming to our new reality.”
In addition to acquiring HEPA filters, we have been able to upgrade the ventilation system at The Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance, and invest in film and streaming equipment, as well as the necessary digital infrastructure to allow Citadel + Compagnie to move our educational dance classes, the Citadel Dance Program, online.
We are committed to providing accessible dance programming for community members online during COVID-19, and when it is safe to return, in-person. This investment will have a long-term impact on our Citadel Dance Program dancers and their families and will continue to serve the community beyond the pandemic.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations. OTF awarded $115 million to 644 projects last year to build healthy and vibrant communities in Ontario.
