Laurence Lemieux in Creative Residency

September 1, 2020 Dancer Laurence Lemieux extends hand forward in invitation Photo by Jeremy Mimnagh

Throughout the pandemic, Artistic Director, Laurence Lemieux has been turning to dance to process the immense uncertainty that faces us all. As a sort of grounding daily practice, she found herself revisiting her 2018 solo work, Love me out of it, a work that reflects on seminal moments in her development as an artist and her relationship to dance itself.

Last week, with support of collaborators Simon Rossiter (Lighting Design), John Gzowski (Sound Design), Danielle Baskerville (Rehearsal Direction) and the team of Jim Searle and Chris Tyrell of Hoax Couture (Costume Design), Laurence had the immense pleasure of exploring all elements of her newly envisioned solo work, now titled A Perfect Day.

We look forward to sharing future plans for this beautifully intimate production in our coming season announcement.
